Advent Baking (adventbaking.com) is run by [your name or business name]. This policy explains what information the site handles and why. The short version: you don't need an account, and we don't collect your name, email address or anything else about you.

What's saved on your device

To remember your progress, the site saves a small amount of information in your own browser, using a feature called local storage:

which drawers you've opened,
which recipes you've saved to your recipe box, and
the calendar date shown on the page.

This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. We can't see it. It isn't shared between your devices or browsers. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's data for adventbaking.com.

We don't use cookies, and nothing on the site tracks you for advertising.

Services the site relies on

Google Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google's servers, so your browser sends Google your IP address and basic browser details when you visit. Google's handling of this is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Our web host. Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to identify you.

Features that stay on your device

The kitchen timer, the batch-size buttons and "Copy shopping list" all run entirely in your browser. When you copy a shopping list, it goes to your own clipboard and nowhere else.

Things we don't do (yet)

We don't currently run a mailing list, use analytics, or offer accounts, comments or photo uploads. If we add any of these, we'll update this policy before they go live, and we'll ask for your permission where the law requires it.

Children

Families bake together, and we're glad to have them. The site doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your choices and rights

Because we don't hold personal information about you, there's normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Your progress lives in your browser, and you control it. If you have a question about your privacy, or you'd like to exercise a right you have under laws like the GDPR or California's privacy laws, contact us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
